Doulas and The Partner

A Doula is a useful tool for the partner. Partners have a unique space in the birth environment that can not be replaced by a Doula. It’s the Doulas job to help alleviate external stressors so that a couple can stay connected and in tune with each other uninterrupted during the birth. Partners and doulas work as a team unit and help each other.

A doula does not know someone as personal and deeply as a partner does. A doula needs that partners connection and insight to help facilitate the birth environment. Having a doula allows for less stress to be put on the partner to have all the answers in the birth space.

The birth of a baby is a transformational time for partners too and having all the support you can will help with the transition and increase chances of a positive and life changing event.
